Green Products
Several areas of the world are now enforcing new environmental regulations that govern the manufactur-ing and disposal of products that include electronic components. The first was Europe. The European Union's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment ( WEEE ) directive has been in effect since August 2005, and the Restriction on Hazardous Substances ( RoHS ) took effect in July of 2006. RoHS has caused reverberations around the world. In fact, since these directives became public in 2002, most companies in the industry have been planning for the transition to no-lead products. The Henrich Products are compliant with the following regulations:
ISO 14001:2004
ISO 14001 is the standard for assessing an organization's environmental management system ( EMS ).
WEEE
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment directive stipulates that a company is responsible for the
ecological disposal or recycling of its electrical and electronic products.
RoHS
The Restriction on Hazardous Substances directive prohibits the use of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl ( PBB ), and polybrominated diphenyl ether ( PBDE ) flame retardants.
